What it did
Godsent was the official app for GODSENT, the Swedish esports organisation. It did one job: tell their fans when the team was playing.
It covered the CS:GO, League of Legends and Dota 2 rosters, with notifications when a new fixture was announced, results from previous matches, and the option to push a game straight into your own calendar. Times were always shown in the reader’s local timezone, which matters more than it sounds when your audience is spread across Europe and the matches start at awkward hours.
How it was built
It shipped on both iOS and Android. Building for a single organisation makes the problem small and the standard high: there is one team to follow, so there is nowhere for a wrong fixture or a missed notification to hide – the people using it know the schedule better than the app does.
The last release, in January 2023, was a full rebuild of the interface rather than a feature addition. A month later Frag shipped, doing the same job across every team instead of one.
Status
Discontinued. The last release was January 2023 and it is no longer maintained. The iOS version has been removed from the App Store; the Play listing is still up as a record. Around 100 installs on Android – it was built for one club’s supporters, not for scale.
Platforms
iOS and Android, at the time. Only the Android listing remains.
